Six-Park Metric Century Bicycle Ride

The Cape Fear Cyclists and Wilmington Recreation Division are
partnering to offer the public the 2nd Annual Six-Park Metric
Century. This bicycle ride will begin at Halyburton Park and
will travel to River Road Park, Snow’s Cut Park, Carolina
Beach State Park, Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, and
Greenfield Lake. The total distance is 62.55 miles, but riders
will have the option to turn around with an escort at any park.
Refreshments, maps, and cue sheets will be provided, and
participation is free. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May
10. Check-in will be at 8:30 AM at the Halyburton Park Events

A Parade is planned for Saturday May 20 at 11:45 A. M.,
weather permitting, with marching units, mini-cars, clowns,
daredevils and more. The parade will be lead by our Potentate
Olen Smith from Watha, N.C. The streets along the route will be
closed 30 minutes before the parade starts. The parade will line
up in the Federal Point shopping center and will continue down
North Lake Park Blvd. and will end up on South Lake Park Blvd
near the Carolina Beach Lake. The Shriners National Poster

Art Unleashed; Artists Aid the Animals

providing entertainment on Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The

Colonel Lamb's Pets
Display of two pieces of British-manufactured horse artillery
used by Confederat soldiers at Ft. Fisher to patrol the beaches
